Trócaire Representative visits Our Lady of Lourdes School to launch 2026 Lenten Campaign Our Lady of Lourdes School, Ballymoney, was delighted to welcome Roisin O’Hara from Trócaire as a special guest to officially launch the school’s 2026 Lenten fundraising campaign. Roisin met with KS3 pupils, offering an engaging and inspiring session that highlighted the important work Trócaire carries out around the world. During her visit, pupils enjoyed a thought-provoking presentation explaining: · What Trócaire does · The global issues they address · The countries and communities they support The session helped pupils understand how their fundraising efforts directly contribute to improving lives in some of the world’s most vulnerable regions. To make the event even more interactive, Roisin hosted a quiz and Q&A session, giving pupils the chance to test their knowledge and learn even more about Trócaire’s mission. Winners were delighted to receive Easter Eggs as prizes — all made using sustainably sourced cocoa, reinforcing Trócaire’s commitment to ethical and responsible global practices. The visit provided an excellent foundation for the school’s Lenten campaign, inspiring pupils to get involved, think globally, and support those in need.
Well done to our Year 10 and Year 11 girls who are currently training for the Ulster GAA Cúchulainn Blitz! They’ll be competing as part of a joint team alongside players from Ballymoney High School and Dalriada School. 🏐🏐
As part of the NI Science Festival, some of our Year 10 pupils attended a Marine Science workshop led by Ulster University students, exploring sound pollution in our oceans and its impact on marine life. Pupils learned how human activity affects underwater ecosystems and discussed ways we can help protect them for the future 🐋🐟
Our Lady of Lourdes School marked Ash Wednesday with a reflective Distribution of Ashes service, inviting students and staff to begin the Lenten season with intention and compassion. The service included readings which emphasised themes of renewal, honesty, and the courage to begin again. Through prayer and reflection, the school community committed to acts of kindness, self‑discipline, and spiritual growth in preparation for Easter.
