What a fantastic morning at Bring a Friend to Breakfast Club!
Great food, great conversations, and even better company! It was brilliant to see so many familiar faces and to welcome some new ones along too. Nothing beats starting the day with a good breakfast, plenty of laughs, and a room full of positive energy.
Thanks to everyone who came along and brought a friend — mornings like this are what make our community special. Looking forward to the next one! 🥣🧃☕️
A big thank you to three local companies Treetops Tree Care, Breezy Balloons and The Royal Court Hotel for sponsoring our recent Unplugged Concert! 🎶🎤🎸
🇨🇳✨ Year 8A/B SPSC have been loving our topic Foods Around the World! Today we travelled all the way to China to make delicious egg fried rice with curry sauce. The chopsticks were a challenge… but we nailed it! 🥢😄 #HomeEc #FoodsAroundTheWorld #Year8 #SPSC

📚 World Book Day 📚
At OLOL, reading for pleasure plays a vital role in helping young people grow as confident, curious, and creative learners. When students choose to read simply because they enjoy it, they strengthen their imagination, develop empathy, expand their vocabulary, and build the literacy skills that support success across every subject.
On World Book Day, Year 8’s took that joy one step further with our Reading for Pleasure Challenge—inviting students to read in the most unique and unexpected places around the school. From cosy corners and stairwells to science labs and sports halls, our Year 8’s embraced the challenge with enthusiasm and humour. The photos captured along the way show not only the fun we had, but also the shared love of stories that brings us together. ⚫️🔴⚫️🔴
📚📚 World Book Day 📚📚
This World Book Day, Mrs McAleese’s Year 8 class combined creativity, literacy, and a love of sport through a unique and imaginative project: designing football kits inspired by their favourite novels. Each kit was carefully crafted to reflect the key themes, characters, and settings of the chosen books, transforming pages and plotlines into visual storytelling.
Students explored how colours, patterns, and symbols could represent the atmosphere and ideas within their novels. The results were vibrant, thoughtful, and wonderfully inventive - showcasing not only artistic skill but also a deep understanding of the literature behind each design. ⚽️⚽️
